The House Hotel is located in the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Karaköy on Bankalar Caddesi, a convenient spot for exploring bohemian Beyoğlu, historic Sultanahmet and the Galata Port. The Spice Market and Galata Tower are close-by sightseeing destinations while the Jewish museum is right behind the hotel.
A former bank restored by the Agha Khan award-winning Turkish architect Han Tümertekin, the building structure retains original features, while the luxurious modern interiors were designed by Sinan Kafadar who was inspired by its imposing bank vaults, which also gave rise to the hotel's name. The contemporary classic room interiors also evoke wealth and luxury with a succesful blend of Ottoman history and contemporary Istanbul design.
An in-house art curator organizes events and exhibitions throughout the hotel and a collection of impressive art, music and culture books are on display for guests to browse.
Located in the lobby, 'Kasa Lokanta' offers fresh, seasonal international and contemporary Turkish cuisine from dawn until dusk. Also in the lobby, the impressive circular Gold Bar incorporates a bank vault as the beverage cabinet in its unique design, and rich green upholstered booths with laser-etched glass panels and LED lighting. Guests can even pay a visit to the underground wine cellar set in an original vault to make their own selection.
After a day’s sightseeing return for a massage in the white marble Turkish hamam.
