Yi Long Court

At Yi Long Court, with its rich 1920s Shanghainese surroundings, you’ll dine on Cantonese cuisine exquisitely prepared by Chinese Executive Chef Dicky Ho and his team. You can also sample specialities such as pan-fried scallops stuffed with minced shrimps in black bean sauce, and diced beef with sliced garlic in honey sauce, and choose from the extensive selection of specialty teas at the restaurant’s tea counter. Cuisine is principally Cantonese, with other regional and dim sum favourites such as Peking Duck and barbecued pork puffs. Desserts are mouth-watering, including the delectable chilled sago cream with strawberry and pomelo. Book ahead to reserve the coveted chef’s table so you can view the magic from your seat.
The Lobby

The lobby of The Peninsula Shanghai is an experience in itself, with its discreet but sumptuous décor in celadon green and ivory, triple-height ceiling, and stunning three-dimensional fresco effects created by Hong Kong artist Helen Poon. The Lobby is the hotel's all-day dining restaurant, open from 6.00 a.m. to 11.00 p.m., but it is famous above all for the Peninsula Traditional Afternoon Tea, accompanied by live music from the Minstrel's Gallery above performed by the Lobby Strings ensemble from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. The Lobby Band perform every evening. All in all, a memorable moment in your Shanghai day.
Salon De Ning

The third Salon De Ning in a series of bars inspired by the fictional Shanghai socialite and traveller, Madame Ning. New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai are all host to this exclusive bar where the interiors leave you in awe and amazement. 1930s decadence is the theme in a blend of East and West, vintage and modern made up of a unique collection of travel mementos and objets d'art. Dance along to live music on the dance floor or sip on Salon de Ning rosé champagne and nibble on their signature purple and white chocolate in one of the four themed private alcoves: Azure, Indian, L’Atelier or Movie.
The Compass Bar

With access directly from the Bund, The Compass Bar is a favourite meeting place, particularly in mild weather when the terrace offers an al fresco option. Interiors are very beautiful, in deep purple with a lot of timber and an overall French navy feel, enhanced by a scaled-down replica of a historic Huangpu river boat. Enjoy drinks that can move on effortlessly to fine dining.
The Peninsula Spa

The award-winning Peninsula Spa has a Neoclassical décor in timber colours, French navy blue and ivory. Its approach is more than just treatments: the spa team encourages new fitness styles based on a combination of gym training, aqua fitness, yoga and Pilates, along with a holistic range of spa journeys, massage, and body and facial treatments in deluxe private suites. We recommend the Weekend Detox programmes that refresh mind and body, so you're fit and ready for the week ahead. The Pensinsula Spa's signature treatments include the Bamboo Harmoniser massage in which bamboo is used to stimulate the body's flow of Qi energy, and the Oriental Thermal infusion, a warm herbal poultice of traditional Chinese herbs rolled over the body's energy centres to free trapped energy and ease tired muscles.
