Koffmann's
Legendary French chef Pierre Koffmann opened at Berkeley's in June 2010: his name has hallmarked some of the finest French food in the UK for the past 35 years. In the new venue, he has moved away from his renowned haute cuisine, towards a more relaxed and informal style, though still very much in contact with his French heartland culinary roots. He creates robust seasonal recipes, some featuring his Gascon heritage, and a menu du jour changing daily. Some dishes are designed to highlight theatrical carving and performance à la table. Of course, there are some of Koffmann's signature favourites, such as scallops with squid ink, brased pig's trotter with morels, and pistachio soufflé with pistachio ice cream.
The Blue Bar
The Blue Bar is one of London's hottest celebrity venues, but it is a chilled-out location where the staff make everyone feel welcome. It is hallmarked by a striking Lutyens blue colour scheme created by designer David Collins, with a white onyx bar and a black crocodile-print leather floor. Drinks include cocktails with an imaginative twist and a passion for perfection, 50 different whiskies, a wide range of champagnes, and selected wines by the glass. All this is accompanied by savoury and sweet tapas-style dishes. Open Mon-Fri 4 p.m.-1 a.m., Sat 3 p.m.-1 a.m., Sun 4 p.m.-midnight. Dress code smart casual.
The Caramel Room
The Caramel Room at The Berkeley is perfect for breakfast, or for a bite at any time of day. It has become famous for its award-winning fashionistas' afternoon tea, "Prêt-à-Portea." The menu at Prêt-à-Portea is inspired by themes and colours from the fashion world, and so it changes every six months to follow changing trends. The Caramel Room's smart interiors were designed by Alexandra Champalimaud from New York, with low lighting, chocolate-colour wall coverings, and faux-crocodile fabrics. Culinary expertise is provided by the hotel's 35 chefs, supervised by Executive Chef Shaun Whatling. The all-day dining menu is available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., while afternoon tea can be enjoyed from 1-6 p.m.
The Berkeley Health Club & Spa
With its relaxing massages and revitalizing beauty treatments, a day at The Berkeley's luxury London spa will leave you looking and feeling fabulous. The location itself is unique, on the 7th floor of the hotel, with one of the city's few rooftop swimming pools. Treatments can be personalized, mixed and matched from skincare experiences and body rituals that combine the best of science and nature. Voya body wraps combine active ingredients with fresh kelp leaves from Northern Ireland that cocoon the body and promote skin regeneration. For example, the Mermaid's Purse Body Wrap is a deeply hydrating and detoxifying treatment for tired skin that stimulates blood flow and encourages cell renewal. The result is a fresh new complexion. In the Organic Muslin Bag Massage, soaked warm bags of herbs and seaweed are gently massaged into the body, releasing precious seaweed oils, gently exfoliating and nourishing the skin. The result is a therapeutic and unashamedly indulgent experience. "Mama Mio" treatments were designed specially for pregnancy and beyond, helping the skin and body to adapt to the changes they're going through. And there's much, much more...
