The Arch London
Luxury lifestyle hotel in a lovely setting, near Marble Arch
Of the hotels uncovered in London by the Luxos hotel guide, The Arch is surely one of the coolest. Set within seven Georgian townhouses and two mews homes near Marble Arch, the hotel is a unique urban hideaway. Combining traditional English architecture with contemporary design elements, The Arch is a fantastic option for the design-conscious traveler. Thoughtfully chosen artwork adorns the walls, natural lighting emits an extra level of comfort and a discerning use of whimsy delightfully accents the traditional Georgian architecture.
One of the highlights of the hotel is the bar and restaurant HUNter 486. Featuring contemporary design pieces from the likes of Tom Dixon and Phillippe Starck, and artwork by illustrator Sara Fanelli, HUNter 486 is a dream of a place to eat, have cocktails, take tea, or sip on tasty champagne.

The Martini Library
Taschen and Daunt books line the bookshelves, and the air is one of masculine refinement. It’s the drawing room you wish you’d conceived of yourself, where lost hours are spent perusing tomes on the art of travel, magic, motoring and photography. Stern design objects and period fireplaces are matched with lovingly upholstered furnishings, sultry tones of Twenties jazz, personal reading lamps and a ‘press to refresh’ service, where waiters magically appear to replenish your champagne and Jing tea. Éclairs are the specialty of the house, intriguingly filled with decadent savoury and sweet fillings, such as strawberry Veuve Clicquot and Foie Gras and Sauternes. These novel fancies are currently gracing every cocktail party in town – pastry chefs across the land will no doubt be taking direction from The Martini Library’s pioneering creations and drawing inspiration from their whimsical ingredients. This is an essential hidden spot behind Oxford Street and a definite date for the diary.
