San Domenico Palace Hotel

This five-star-luxury hotel, a member of Leading Hotels of The World and Fine Hotels & Resorts, is situated in a 15th century monastery, much of which has been beautifully conserved. It is in a position of remarkable natural beauty, with a wonderfully tended garden, and views over the Ancient Greek theatre and right across to Mount Etna. The 105 rooms and suites are located in two different wings: the Garden Wing, built within the monastery buildings, and the Grand Hotel Wing, a fine building in Art Nouveau style, added to the hotel in 1896. Both reflect history and tradition while also guaranteeing all modern comfort and services.

Accommodation ranges from the Classic rooms overlooking the inner hotel cloisters or the city of Taormina, right through to Superior and Deluxe Bedrooms, all featuring breathtaking views over Taormina Bay, or the hotel's Mediterranean Garden, or again across to Mount Etna. The unique, exclusive luxury suite is furnished with prestigious antiques. Other suites include a private Jacuzzi pool on a panoramic terrace.

Michelin Star Restaurant
Named after the founder of the San Domenico hotel, Prince Giovanni Rosso di Cerami, the Restaurant, which has received one Michelin star, is located in a private and attractive room whose design recalls a princely saloon. During the summer season, the restaurant moves to the front terrace looking over the garden and the panorama of the bay of Taormina and Mount Etna. Cuisine is unique for its finest ingredients, in recipes that may be simple or complex, with original presentation that enhances the skill, passion and innovative spirit of the chefs. The restaurant is situated in what used to be the refectory of the monastry. The Executive Chef, Massimo Mantarro, presents exquisite international and Sicilian cuisine. Mantarro's most recent award was the "Gambero Rosso" listing in October 2010.
