Hotel San Anselmo Roma

Combining ancient charm with modern comfort in a Roman Villa

The Hotel Saint Anselmo is located directly opposite to its Benedictine church, in one of the most beautiful areas of Rome: a few steps from the charming square of the Knights of Malta (where you can see the dome of St. Peter by the lock hole the door of the gate of the Priory of the Knights), from the beautiful garden of orange, the monumental Basilica of Santa Sabina and the poetic municipal rose garden.

The hotel is situated in a splendid villa, which has perpetuated the romantic atmosphere and elegance, combining ancient charm with modern comfort. The architecture "fin de siècle", made up of external surfaces were scanned by classical pilasters, from theories of curved windows and rounded surfaces, enclosing environments equipped with a perfect mix of vintage pieces, contemporary design and the accomplice reuse of ancient items of the owners of Villa. Each room is characterized by an evocative name and ad hoc designed furnishings, all of which evoke a dreamlike atmosphere and all are enriched by marble wall, but certainly the most special is the gardener's shed Villa, whose ceiling is studded with LED lights, like the night sky of one of Rome's most romantic hills, the Aventino.

Il Giardino Degli Aranci
The ideal way to spend an afternoon is in the Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta, where you can peer through the keyhole for a view of Saint Peter’s Basilica. Continue through the garden of oranges towards the Tiber River to watch the sun set. After the experience you won’t want to let this feeling go and you won’t have to if you head to Il Giardino Degli Aranci for dinner in Villa San Pio in Via di Santa Melania 9. The menu is changed daily according to freshness and seasonality. Sit within the garden gazebo and enjoy an authentic Roman experience by candlelight.
