Restaurant Les Alpes

Valais is a Canton that has always been proud of its traditions, which include its cuisine and wines. With its candle-lit interiors, Restaurant Les Alpes presents the time-honoured specialities of the region, such as dried Valais beef, the Raclette menu, cheese fondue and another tomato version, and, for dessert, chocolate fondue. If this sounds rather ambitious, don't worry: the relaxed atmosphere induces you to linger and enjoy. The Matterhorn will still be there the day after.

Golf & ski-ing

Crans and the neighbouring resort Montana are on a sun-drenched plateau high above the Rhone valley, at an altitude of 1,500 metres. Together they form one of the latest holiday destinations in the Valais. In winter, you have access to a superb sequence of slopes, extending upwards from the plateau, to the Plaine-Morte glacier at 3,000 metres. From May to October, you can change sport, and enjoy one of the most spectacular tournament sites in the world. The hotel is directly on a 9-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, and adjacent to an 18-hole course by Severiano Ballesteros. Facilities include indoor golf practice, another practice area in front of the hotel, private golf cars, green-fees reservation, golf lessons, and transfer to other golf courses.

Sports enthusiasts have much more available as well. In summer, you can go mountain biking, riding, ballooning, swimming, hang gliding, play tennis and more. There is also culture, with classical music, jazz and rock.

Spa and beauty

The Guarda Golf Spa is a 600 square metre facility with an indoor pool, a whirlpool bath, sauna, hammam, and four treatment room. It is the first spa in the world to use products by Brazilian label Beauty by Clinica Ivo Pitanguy. There is a state-of-the-art fitness room, and extensive golf and ski services.
