Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel
Traditional luxury in the heart of Mayfair
Grosvenor House, London’s largest five-star hotel, opened in 1929 and since then has enjoyed the highest of reputations among local and international elite. In 2008 the hotel was renovated after becoming part of the JW Marriot. Thankfully, most of the original structure and many of the interiors remain, including the art deco bathrooms, the striking hotel reception and the artfully designed façade by Sir Edwin Lutyen. Grosvenor House is in fact the ideal spot for hosting a grand event, owing to its fantastic central London location, elegant interiors and the enormous Great Room, with 1,779 sq meters of space, and a seating capacity of 2,000. In fact, the prestigious BAFTA awards are held in the Great Room of the Grosvenor House each year.
Each of the 494 rooms and suites at Grosvenor House are quite large affairs, and feature lovely views of either Mayfair or Hyde Park. For guests’ culinary indulgence, Grosvenor House offers a number of tempting options. Corrigan’s Mayfair serves stylish British and Irish cuisine, while specializing in game, wild fish and seafood, JW Steakhouse serves up some of London's best beef and The Bourbon Bar offers a unique selection of small batch bourbon, and The Park Room is the ideal London setting for afternoon tea.
