History in the Hills

From the Hills the Grand Hotel Villa Cora overlooks the famous Boboli Gardens, near the historic center of Florence. The main villa is an aristocratic residence built in the late nineteenth century by Baron Oppenheim and greatly reflects the architectural style of that period. When first opened the Villa Cora, Florence  was one of the most fashionable and cultural symbols of the city, hosting major international figures such as Princess Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, and Russian composer Tchaikovsky. For this reason it is considered one of the most beautiful residences in all of Tuscany. After three years of careful restoration, the hotel reopened in December 2010.

Rooms & Suites 
The Grand Hotel Villa Cora is divided into three different structures, meticulous in detail, in order to maintain as much of the original architectural style as possible. Providing several room types such as classic and deluxe suites, junior and family suites and the majestic imperial suite. In the main villa, divided into 4 levels, the decor of the suites is inspired by the influential people who stayed in them. All rooms have spacious bathrooms with shower or bath, mini bar, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and some with private terraces. All guests can access the main terrace of the villa, offering a breathtaking view over the city.

Spa
The spa features a small gym, sauna and hammam, offering massages of Eastern European tradition, as well as beauty treatments in collaboration with the company cosmeceutical MacPharma. The heated outdoor pool overlooks the hills of the city and enriches the spa treatments.

Restaurants
There are two restaurants in the Grand Hotel Villa Cora. The first, housed in a bright conservatory, the second in the old cellars of the Villa. The latter is dedicated to Isma'il Pasha, who spent much time in the villa leaving behind aesthetic influences from the Middle East. Adjacent to this restaurant is the well-stocked cigar room, where you can sample selected spirits and consume the finest cigars from around the world.

 

Il Pasha
A stroll through the Boboli Gardens is the perfect way to bring your day in Florence to a close. Within the exquisite mid-16th century style gardens you will find Palazzo Pitti a Renaissance palace turned museum with a stunning view of the city below. A short walk from the gardens is uniquely decorated dinner venue, Il Pasha. The restaurant is set in a villa’s ancient cellar, designed in a Middle Eastern aesthetic, it also includes an international cigar room. Chef Federico Vannini presents a strictly homemade
menu.

Meeting Room & Lounge 
The public rooms are located on the ground floor of the main villa. They have been restored in full respect of their original features and offer multiple solutions for meetings and lunches, events and presentations. The Long Bar is located in the Sala delle Ceramiche, while there is a small smoking room in the Sala Bianca, characterized by a huge fireplace. The card room is dedicated to tranquil afternoon teas or reading. The Hall is perfectly suited for meetings and dinners. Finally, the Hall of Mirrors is the biggest and the most majestic, versatile for any type of event, thanks to the charm of the original baroque decorations. Opposite the Hall of Mirrors is a stylish and spacious terrace overlooking the park and the picturesque hills of the city.
