Excelsior Hilton Palermo
A hotel in the business heart of the city
Situated in the business heart of the city, surrounded by green areas and lying between Giardino Inglese, Villa Garibaldi and Villa Trabia, the Excelsior Hilton Palermo is an important point of reference for business customers and all those who intend to experience the city's elegant and historical atmosphere. The hotel, currently undergoing improvement of communal areas (hall, foyer, etc), was completely restored as regards its exteriors. Likewise its 100 rooms have been renewed, and equipped with new audio/video facilities. The Hotel was built in 1891 on occasion of the Palermo international exposition, and it is a monument to the elegant Liberty (Art Nouveau) style. In 1891 it was built as a temporary construction, based on timber support structures, with the intention of dismantling it at the end of the show. However, its success and the idea of transforming it for use as a hotel led to the building that we see today, following careful restoration by the architect Basile to whom the project was entrusted in 1925. Today, it is one of the most prestigious historic hotels in Sicily.
The guestrooms are furnished in soft colours and have spacious bathrooms. They combine period charm with modern comfort. This attention to detail, typical of every Hilton hotel, makes it perfect for any type of stay, whether for business or pleasure. Its restaurant, which has won an appreciative clientele ever since its opening for the 1891 National Exhibition, has always been noted for its cosmopolitan tone and its culinary specialities. The hotel has an attractive fitness centre, offering massage, beauty treatments, sauna, Turkish baths, and solarium. In addition, the Excelsior Palace Hotel is the ideal location for hosting business meetings, gala dinners, or to enjoy cocktails in its friendly and lively atmosphere.
For business or private events, there are two ballrooms available: the Manfredi Room (70 square metres) and the Federico Room (45 square metres), which can be arranged according to necessities: U-shaped, chairman's table, auditorium, etc. The maximum capacity, in auditorium form, is 80 for the Manfredi Room and 40 for the Federico Room. The rooms contain a slide projector, flip chart, and overhead projector. On demand, any type of multi-media equipment can be utilized. Coffee breaks and working lunches can be arranged. The Liberty Hall ballroom with its rich furnishings is one of the most attractive venues in Palermo, a refined setting where you can sample traditional Sicilian cuisine as well as international dishes. The hotel's facilities are also perfect for wedding receptions, gala dinners, and high profile events, accommodating up to 160 guests.
