Bagni di Bormio Spa Resort

Wellness, nature and history, from the 1st century B.C. on

 bagni bormio

This luxury hotel was founded in 1836, and it was enlarged and renovated many times during the 19th century. The halls were richly decorated with stucco and frescoes during the Art Nouveau period, and the façade was embellished with Venetian style décor. After a 30-year period during which the hotel was closed, a restoration operation was performed to restore the hotel to its former splendour.
Situated in a parkland setting, Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi has 74 bright and spacious rooms. Nearly all the bathrooms have a whirlpool bath with spa water and chromotherapy equipment. The hotel's Spa is easily accessible from the rooms, and it offers over 30 different indoor and outdoor spa features (baths, pools, sauna, Turkish bath etc) open 12 months a year. Hotel guests can also visit the Spa Bagni Vecchi, situated in the same park, by foot or using our hotel shuttle.

The ground floor halls provide a taste of the characteristically central European atmosphere of luxury 19th-early 20th century Alpine hotels. Traces of Belle Epoque décor hallmark the main halls and their floral motif decoration, and older Neoclassical decoration can be seen on the ceilings in the Sala degli Affreschi. Some of these halls have been arranged specifically for Conventions. The luxurious Ballroom, lit by large panoramic windows which look out over the gardens and the valley, along with Murano glass chandeliers, are heated by a sumptuously decorated fireplace. These rooms once hosted banquets for the elite which at that time frequented Bormio and their spas, enlivened by music coming from the galleries. Today it is used as a dining room that can accommodate banquets for 200 people.
