Argentario Golf Resort & Spa
A superb golf course, a luxury resort, and a delightful spa
The Argentario Golf Resort & Spa has redefined Tuscan luxury. Set in a lush valley in Maremma near the exclusive beaches of Monte Argentario, the hotel has wholeheartedly embraced the future, without hesitation or compromise. While the exteriors in limestone are relatively unassuming, the interiors, designed by Andrea Fogli, are truly visionary. The hotel is contemporary in every sense of the word, from the visual design concept based on optical contrasts, such as vintage furnishings paired with modern photography, to the constant and consistent approach to ecology, as can be seen in the seasonal and organic restaurant, Dama-Dama, and the certified “Agri Cert” eco-bio-compatible golf course. The hotel’s 72 rooms and suites all have terraces overlooking the golf course, and have been designed in a variety of contemporary themes. From the Scandinavian-inspired Tuscany suites, to the modern vintage Gallery Suite, guests at The Argentario will never be lacking in creative visual delights.
A true luxury resort, The Argentario offers everything that one could desire on a holiday or business trip. The Espace Spa offers an incredible range of organic beauty treatments and luxury wellness services, as well as indoor, outdoor and saltwater pools and solarium. The aforementioned golf course features 18 holes surrounded by a natural Mediterranean oasis, serviced by a staff of golf professionals. The Argentario Pro Shop stocks all the latest in golfing equipment and golf wear. A jogging path runs around the golf course, and tennis courts and soccer fields are available for rent, or private lessons. Continuing with the fitness theme, the onsite, panoramic fitness center offers personal training and cutting-edge machinery from Tecnogym. Experts from the fitness center and golf course have also teamed together to offer unique team-building exercises to help increase company performance. They offer golf clinics, sail boat racing, deep-sea diving lessons, cycling and mountain bike excursions, and hiking trips in the Maremma. Meeting facilities include three conference rooms, the largest with a capacity of 200 people, a business center and boardroom.
At the Dama-Dama Restaurant, Chef Fabrizio Santucci and Executive Chef Emiliano Lombardelli prepare innovative Tuscan and regional Italian cuisine in a space described as an "ironic and contemporary interpretation of an elegant mountain shelter". Using organic, local, and seasonal ingredients, Santucci and Lombardelli produce true culinary masterpieces. The informal bistro, The Bar, offers a simple menu of international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Rooms and Suites
Owner Augusto Orsini and designer Andrea Fogli have created true design sensations in the 7 suites, 55 junior suites and 10 superior rooms at The Argentario. Inspired by diverse contemporary design themes, the rooms and suites exhibit the very best of our contemporary age. Each of the seven suites at the Argentario has been individually created, though they all include a large timber terrace, perfect for entertaining. The award-winning Spa Loft is a 70 square meter open space, designed on the wellness theme, and it contains an XL Whirlpool, a Turkish bath, Kinesis equipment by Tecnogym, and a stationary bike with TV. The Business Suite, on the other hand, was designed for the working traveler. A 40 square meter apartment, the Business Suite is styled with dark timber furniture and warm colors, and it has a cloakroom and private office with PC, fax and printer. The Home Suite provides intimate luxury with its light woods, vintage furniture and settees, breakfast room and living room with fireplace and 32” television. The 55 Junior Suites have been divided into three different levels and three different design styles: the north-European inspired Tuscany Suites, the glamorous Club Suites, and the minimalist Gallery Suites. Like the Suites, the Junior Suites and Superior Rooms all feature terraces overlooking the golf course.
Dama-Dama Restaurant
An ironic design interpretation of an American hunting lodge, the Dama-Dama features fake hunting trophies, natural fabrics and imaginative fireplaces. All these features have little in common with the food, which is modern Tuscan cuisine, exquisitely prepared and presented. The food at Dama-Dama is a true dining pleasure, highlighting seasonal ingredients in a menu expertly compiled by Fabrizio Santucci, previously at the Caminetto Restaurant and Casina Valadier Restaurant in Rome, and Executive Chef Emiliano Lombardelli. Dama-Dama presents four menus a year, for the spring, summer, fall and winter seasons. The 2010 “Maremma in Summer” menu features such items as a starter of an aubergine and tomato terrine with burrata cheese and basil essence, a main of pan-fried filet served with vegetable spaghetti topped with crisp cecina, and a desert of honey and nut parfait with chocolate sauce. Don't miss Dama-Dama’s truly awe-inspiring brunch buffet.
The Bar
Open all day, The Bar offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. With simple, international menu offerings in a welcoming and informal setting, The Bar is also the perfect place to enjoy an evening aperitif or sample a glass of local wine. The Bar also organizes private lunches and dinners on request.
Espace Spa
The Espace Spa is luxury defined in terms of wellness. Set in the natural surroundings of the golf course, the spa offers the perfect place for guests to relax and unwind, featuring a Turkish aroma bath, saltwater steam bath, Finnish saunas, saline tub and indoor pool. An outdoor pool area boasts fantastic panoramic views, and is surrounded by an area for sunning, with a whirlpool, designed for maximum relaxation. The spa’s beauty area has a full-service salon and luxurious beauty rooms, offering a relaxing setting for one-on-one beauty services such as anti-ageing facials and stress-relieving massages. For the ultimate in private spa luxury for two, the Private Espace Suite contains a glamorous chromotherapeutic whirlpool bath, with a rain shower and surrounded with candles and floating petals. Ambient music plays as guests sip on cocktails, or enjoy a couples massage.
The Argentario Golf Club
Surrounded by cork-oak forests and olive trees, the Argentario Golf Club is situated in a truly amazing Tuscan environment. Designed by architect David Mezzacane, each of the holes in the 18-hole golf course was brilliantly and uniquely planned, resulting in a new natural discovery around every twist and turn. The Argentario prides itself on it eco-sustainability, and this approach extends to the golf course as well. Just natural materials are used in the maintenance of the course, and it has received “Agri Cert” eco-bio-compatible certification. The staff at the Agentario Golf Club are fully trained to teach players of all levels, from absolute beginners to top amateurs, and offer both individual and group lessons. If guests find they need additional equipment or clothing to supplement their game during a stay at the hotel, the onsite Pro Shop offers a wide selection of items to meet your golfing needs. Benefitting from the mild Maremma climate, the Argentario Golf Club is open all the year round.
Fitness Center and More
The fully equipped fitness center is more likely to remind you of your regular gym, than that of a hotel. Offering the full range of cardio and body-building equipment, the center also offers daily classes in yoga, pilates, water fitness, step, muscle conditioning, circuits and more. Personal trainers are available for both individual and group classes. Tennis courts and soccer fields may be rented for private games, or for private lessons catering to all skill levels.
