AC Palacio del Retiro

This 50-room hotel is located just opposite the famous Retiro Park, close to Paseo de Recoletos. It is perhaps the best-located hotel in the city, situated as it is in the triangle formed by the Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofia museums. The building dates from the early 20th century, and it is protected by National Heritage status.

The Suite Bar at hotel AC Palacio del Retiro is a haven throughout the day, perfectly located for the museums, from 8.30 a.m. until 1.00 a.m., where you can enjoy tapas, snacks or complete dishes at any time, with appetizing sandwiches, Jamón Ibérico, mozzarella skewers, hummous and much more. The hotel and its bar are close to many of the major sights and museums in the city, such as Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Museo Arqueologico Nacional, and of course Parque del Retiro.

Dating from the beginning of the 20th century, the gorgeous Palacio del Retiro has one of the best locations in the city, adjacent to the Retiro Park Gardens and in the middle of the triangle formed by Thyssen, Prado and Reina Sofia museums. Within the classic hotel is the surprisingly modern Índice Restaurant. Chef David Herranz, one of Madrid’s rising stars, has designed a menu focused on creative, seasonal interpretations of traditional Spanish dishes. Unique garden views and the tasteful contemporary interiors make Índice the perfect place to sample modern Mediterranean dishes.

AC Fitness Center
Hotel AC Palacio del Retiro is fully equipped to meet the requirements of guests, and this includes the possibility of daily exercise routines so important for all-round health. A Fitness Advice consultancy service is provided, in cooperation with the Caroli Health Club network, a new concept based on personalized treatments with attention dedicated to even the smallest details. The Fitness Center comprises state-of-the-art exercise equipment, leisure facilities such as magazines, iPod docking station, TV and mini hi-fi, together with a selection of bottled mineral waters. Sauna and Turkish bath services are also provided. The Center is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
