The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao part of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is located alond the Nervion River in Bilbao. The collection includes works by prominent artists such as Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschberg, James Rosenquist, Andy Warhol, as well as modern Spanish artists. The Guggenheim Museum's mission is to collect and preserve the works of modern Basque and Spanish artists.

The building was designed by American architect Frank O. Gehry and is perhaps one of Bilbao's landmarks and one of the most recognized architectural masterpieces of the 20th century. Since its openning in 1997, the museum has attracted the attention of many with its wavy exterior design made entirely in titanium and its spacious limestone and glass interior. Architect Philip Johnson referred to it as "the greatest building of our time."

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The museum is closed on December 25 and January 1.
