The Colosseum

With a 55,000 capacity and 80 entrances, the Colosseum was the largest building of its time and it is still impressive today despite being partly torn down to build Vatican City. We highly recommend a guided tour to fully appreciate its history and dispel the myths you believed in the film, Gladiator. Beware, don't fall for the people outside offering tours, you can save 10 Euro if you ask for a tour at the entrance and you'll still skip the queue! The easiest way to reach it is by taking a metro to the Colosseo stop.
