La Paloma
Pousada de Sao Tiago, Avenida da Republica, Macau
Dining within the stone walls and floor-to-ceiling windows of La Paloma restaurant is a matchless experience as far as Macau goes. In a city of high rises, casinos and fluroescent lights, the restaurant's home at Pousada de São Tiago, the boutique hotel built in a 15th century fort, is a rare gem.
Spanish turned fine-dining forms the menu which includes signature starter dishes such as fine Iberico Jamon. Talented Executive Chef Hector Costa Fernandez does seafood best with his Paella Valenciana which is the finest I've tasted to date. With an equally impressive wine list (listing some top Spanish wines such as Rioja and Tempranillo ) La Paloma is the ideal spot for a breakfast, lunch or dinner in Macau which differs from the rest and in my opinion, does culinary best!
