Bund 18
18 Zhongshan East Road, Shanghai
When history comes to life
In years past, Bund 18 was the headquarters of the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China. The Neoclassical style building was originally built in 1923 by the British architectural firm Palmer & Turner. From this location, you can see a magnificent view of Huangpu River and Pudong. Understanding the value of this important landmark, Bund 18 Real Estate took on a two-year renovation project to restore the entire building to its original glory. The beautiful result won an Award of Excellence as part of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Awards for Culture Heritage Conservation.
Today, Bund 18 offers luxury shopping, dining, entertainment and culture all under one roof. There are five restaurants and lounges offering international cuisine. For the culture enthusiast, you can complete your experience at 18 Gallery, an open exhibition space. Extended hours mean you can still see some art after shopping and dining.
Luxury boutiques include A. Lange & Söhne, Cartier, Ermenegildo Zegna, Patek Philippe, Vertu, and Ulysse Nardin. The Zegna store, in particular, is the brand’s largest flagship in Asia right here at Bund 18. Architects Gian Maria and Roberto Beretta combined Western and Chinese elements that were in keeping with Bund 18’s Neoclassical style. In this 600-square-metre space, there is a made-to-measure service room where you can order your suit and tie. You will also find the Couture collection, Sartorial, Z Zegna, Zegna Sport, and accessories.
