Dover Street Market
17-18 Dover Street, London W1S 4LT
Dover Street Market is a retail and trend market where, in the intentions of its founder Rei Kawakubo, various creative people from different fields meet and interact in a beautiful chaos. "I enjoy seeing all the customers coming to Dover Street Market dressed in their strong, good looking and individual way. I would like for Dover Street Market to be the place where fashion becomes fascinating." Kawakubo is the Japanese fashion designer who founded Comme des Garçons. The market opened in 2004, and it reflects Kawakubo's request to participants, namely for personal, free points of view. The result is an interesting combination of fashion, art, and design, a sort of think-tank building that extends over six floors.

Names at DSM include Comme des Garçons (all 14 lines), Lanvin, Casey Vidalenc, Daniela Gregis, Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, Givenchy, Jil Sander, Nina Ricci, Paco Rabanne, Peter Pilotto, Yves Saint Laurent, Céline, Raf Simons, Ann Demeulemeester, Rick Owens and many others. Lovely freshly baked scones from the Rose Bakery within the building.

Dover Street Market is on 17-18 Dover Street, London W1S 4LT (nearest tube is Green Park), open Monday-Wednesday 11.00 a.m.-6.30 p.m., Thursday-Saturday 11.00 a.m.-7.00 p.m., Sunday midday-5.00 p.m.
