Chef Daniel Garcia produces some of the best Basque cuisine in the country in his Bilbao restaurant, Zortziko. The restaurant is fittingly located just steps from the Guggenheim Museum; fitting because Garcia’s dishes are beautifully prepared, and sometimes quirky, works of art that taste every bit as good as they appear. Located in an elegant 19th century mansion, Zortziko is divided into three formal dining areas, one Royal French, one Victorian English and the other more modern in appearance. A single table in the wine cellar is a popular spot for more private dinners. The menu changes constantly, but the tasting menu is always a good bet, and the best way to indulge in a variety of dishes.
