Rosa Bonheur

Rosa Bonheur was a 19th-century French painter and something of an eccentric. The like-named "Guinguette" (tavern, or more exactly, a place where you can eat, drink and dance) at the centre of Parc des Buttes Chaumont is also completely different, attracting huge numbers of smart, youngish people who enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, the tapas-aperitifs, and the DJ-set music. It's packed on Sunday evenings, and so we recommend weekdays. Enjoy the views from the terrace, and then a stroll through one of the city's largest and wildest parks.
