The Savoy Grill
The Savoy Strand, London WC2R 0EU
Not only famous for its owner (who needs no introduction) Gordon Ramsay, the history of The Savoy Grill dates back to 1889 when it was regularly frequented by the likes of Sir Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. Chefs Stuart Gillies and Andy Cook present classic British/French though the English half really shines with the restaurant’s roast lunch trolley and Sunday roast featuring a roasted rib of beef from rare breed Hereford cattle cooked on the bone to retain maximum flavour, served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and horseradish cream sauce.
Luxos Recommends: Pan-fried fillet of organic Orkney sea trout with razor clams, samphire and hispi cabbage followed by Blood Orange Baked Alaska flambé
