Rive Gauche, looks like something from a science fiction film – there is something of New York about it, possibly linked to the name of the project: Docks en Seine (Docks on the Seine). A cement residence founded in 1907 and so dubbed by Le Corbusier, this new temple dedicated to fashion has an unedited objective to gather all aspects of creation under one roof. It owes its primary colour the Parisian river: “green, just like the waters of the Seine”, according to architect Dominique Jakob, which necessitated seven years of effort to build 12000m2 of exposition space, for fashion shows and businesses linked to fashion and design, about half are open-access.
