Located in a charming historical building this sixteenth-century palace couldn’t be much more central. Just a few hundred metres from the Piazza del Duomo, the boutique Palazzo Vecchietti hotel provides a peaceful escape from the crowds. In an interior that is both handsome as it is comfortable old-world refinement and classic elegance go hand in hand.
Guest rooms reflect the creative eye of Michele Bonan with his penchant for classic modern design. Warm and stylish, and very much in keeping with the Florentine setting the doubles, suites and apartments are decorated in a bachelor-esque contemporary classic style. They are also adorned with drawings, prints and the like providing a touch of Renaissance balance to complement the state-of-the-art luxury-hotel fittings.
With just 14 guestrooms in total, guests are far more than just a number. In fact each room is named after a Florentine artist or poet from Lorenzo de’ Medici to Leonardo da Vinci. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, and well-stocked minibars. If you are missing any necessities a personal butler is on hand to fulfill your every wish.
Served in a third-floor room around a large communal table, breakfast is continental style with fresh fruit, croissants, toast, marmalade and cappuccino.
Piazza Repubblica is right outside the door, and the Duomo and the upmarket shopping street of Via Tornabuoni are both a minute’s walk away.
