It might be hot, but Dubai's running scene is full steam ahead. Here are the best routes to break a sweat on

The city's outdoor running season is now in full swing and jogging enthusiasts trade the treadmill for various scenic locations around Dubai. Just make sure you dress respectfully.

Jumeirah Beach

For runners looking for a running track with distance, the new Jumeirah Corniche has a 14km long track that starts from the Dubai Marine Beach Resort, passes through Kite Beach and ends near the Burj Al Arab hotel. This is a runner’s paradise with beautiful beachfront scenery, a wide track with rest stops along the way.

Al Ittihad Park, Palm Jumeirah

Al Ittihad Park is located is located on the trunk part of the Palm Jumeirah and includes a rubber running track around the monorail with one lap spanning 2.7km. It’s easy to get to from either side of the trunk and is walking distance from the Fairmont Hotel. If you’re driving there, there’s plenty of parking. In center of the track there are pathways with ponds and fountains and play areas for kids. There’s also fixed workout stations for anyone to use. Post run, stop by Shakespeare and Co for a coffee of breakfast. It’s located just next to the track and has an outdoor seating area.

Safa Park

Safa Park is at the heart of Dubai located in Al Wasl and close to Business Bay and Downtown Dubai. The 3.4km-jogging track surrounds the 158.148- acre park, which also has tennis and basketball facilities.

Al Barsha Pond Park

If you’re staying near the Mall of the Emirates, the Al Barsha Pond Park is about a 40-minute walk. Features include a soft 1.4km running track around a pond. This is probably the prettiest place to run as the track is lined with pretty flowers on either side. The park is open until 10pm every day with no entry fee.

The Beach, JBR

The Beach in Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) is a popular destination as it has plenty of restaurants, playgrounds for children and an out door gym (Muscle Beach) managed by the Warehouse Gym. There’s a jogging path that runs parallel to the beach, which is great when it’s not busy. Early morning runs are recommended.
