GLOW by Armin Amrein

GLOWSource: restaurant's own

After 32 years at Bürkenstock Resort where he ran the Michelin-starred restaurant The Club, chef de cuisine Armin Amrein has just opened his own restaurant called GLOW. Its ambience offers a modern Alpine interior, in which Amrein presents his superb cuisine focusing on creativity and the individual taste of his ingredients. The menu changes every three weeks, but it will always include his classics such as the legendary Stroganoff noodles or langoustine ravioli. The wine list is mainly European, with a special focus on Swiss labels, and some wonderful wines from the Bündner region.

LUXOS recommends: Fried duck liver on caramelized apple, followed by Armin Amrein’s legendary stroganoff noodles.

Gourmet Stübli

Also known as Bieri’s Stübli, the culinary highlights by Martin Bieri brought him a Michelin star not long after his arrival last summer. His specialities include traditional recipes given a new interpretation in the ‘Back to the roots’ menu, and more modern creations in the ‘Around the world’ menu. The dining room is warm, traditional and timber-lined, the perfect setting for recipes such as Bieri’s famous Chateaubriand Black Angus Beef from Engadin served for two, using only hand-selected Swiss beef from the Engadin, worth a visit in itself.

LUXOS recommends: Start with a Pigeon Miéral served with baby onions, black garlic and sorrel followed by Alpine lamb from Davos that comes with woolly pork ham, melon and garlic.
