Rent a Sailboat
Travellers who prefer doing things at your own pace, you can pack a great picnic - Eataly offers a Picnic all'Italiana that can be delivered to you - and rent a boat for the day. Having the freedom to cruise around the lake or lounge around in pristine corners is a wonderful way to live the dolce vita. You can rent a classic wooden boat, or opt for a more modern motorboat.
Forget the ground beneath your feet, and let it all go. If you manage to plan a visit to Como on a perfect day, when the winds are just right and sky is bright and clear, set your mind to reach new heights. Experienced paragliders will enjoy the silence, while new adventurers are bound to gain fresh perspective on life and tick off an unforgettable experience from their bucket list.
Ride a Seaplane
We couldn't imagine a more chic way to see the region from above than by seaplane, taking in the view of the Italian Alps peaking to the sky, with lush green forests all around and Como lake gleaming below. And just when you think it couldn't get better, you'll cruise down smooth waters before coming back to earth. You can choose to land when and where you wish, as you get a bird's eye view of the beautiful and serene scenery. Seaplane tours run everyday and last xx, departing from Como centre.
Lunch like a Royal
Book a table at one of the luxury hotels perfectly positioned around Lake Como, and enjoy the pleasures of Italian cuisine. You'll get lakeside views at the CastaDiva Resort and Villa D'Este, while at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo and Villa Serbelloni you'll be able to enjoy the view from an open-air terrace.
Take a Hike
If you're experienced in mountain treks, or looking to try out this sport, you might want to join guided walks in the mountains around Como. Make sure to wear proper shoes and pack the necessarires (water, sunscreen, caps and a snack). With the incredible views at the top of every hill, we imagine that a camera goes without saying. The Greenway of Lago di Como is set to open very soon with guided, independent paths for travellers at lower elevations, with equally majestic views.
You can easily combine 2-3 of these day activities in Como, and the spa experience should be well considered. The historic, luxury properties each offer their own approach to wellbeing, yet are always connected with the natural characteristics of the environment in which they are set. The T-Spa at Grand Hotel Tremezzo is set in a palazzo surrounded by a lush forest of trees and flowers, and each of the ESPA products exudes the wonderful aromas of nature itself. CastaDiva SPA is all about reconnecting with the elements: feel the fire, connect with the earth, purify in the waters and breathe the crisp air around the lake. The spa is set in an old steamboat environment, while the chaise-longs rest on a glass floor that is suspended over a dock by the lake. At the Beauty Center in the historic Villa D'Este, you'll exchange your statement pieces for a classic look: the plush white robe and slippers. Expect to be bathed in plenty of vitamins and your spirit infused with energizing treatments; soft lighting and water are focal elements of the spa's design.
